Gujarati Samaj Finland Makes History with the First-Ever Gujarati Film Screening in a Finnish Theatre!
We are thrilled and immensely proud to share that Gujarati Samaj Finland has successfully organized the first-ever theatrical screening of a Gujarati movie in Finland – a moment that will be cherished for years to come in our community’s history.
The film, All The Best Pandya – a sparkling, heartfelt Gujarati comedy – brought together humor, emotion, and a touch of nostalgia, resonating with audiences of all ages. But beyond the film itself, what made the evening truly extraordinary was the journey that led to it.
This event was not simply a movie night—it was the culmination of months of hard work, coordination, and perseverance by the dedicated volunteers and committee members of Gujarati Samaj Finland. Securing screening rights, coordinating with international distributors, ensuring subtitling for broader accessibility, booking a Finnish cinema, and promoting the event within the community—every step came with its own set of challenges. But the passion for our language, culture, and identity fueled our efforts.
Gujarati Samaj Finland has long been committed to preserving and promoting Gujarati culture in our adopted homeland. This event stands as a testament to what a united community can achieve. Bringing a regional Indian language film to a mainstream cinema in Finland is not a small feat—it required vision, collaboration, and above all, belief in the value of cultural celebration.
And what a response we received!

It felt like one big extended Gujarati family gathered under a single roof. For many, it was a nostalgic return to their roots; for others, especially younger members of the community, it was a joyful and proud introduction to the cinematic richness of our heritage.
