Every year since Gandhiji's statue got unveiled in Helsinki, Gujarati Samaj feels honored to contribute in organizing Gandhi Jayanti - Mahatma Gandhi's Birth Anniversary - on October 2. Gujarati Samaj takes pride in collaborating along with the Embassy of India in Finland to celebrate the International Day of Nonviolence. Members of Indian community gather at the Gandhi statue in Helsinki and reaffirm the commitment to peace and nonviolence.This year the event was graced by Ambassador of India in Finland HE Raveesh Kumar and Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen. It was an honor to hear a word of praise from the Ambassador the for efforts put in by Gujarati Samaj. Madam Minister noted contribution of the Indian community. Members of Sanskriti Suomi rendered Gandhiji's favorite prayer. Winners and participants of the video recording competition were awarded on the occasion by the Ambassador.
